London 2000 Adventure
Being a recounting of their New Years 2000 Vacation

Our story starts New Year's Eve 1998. Lloyd and Patty agreed to let Northwest Airlines bump them from a flight to California (Lloyd's home at the time) in return for $800 in flight credit for each of them. They took their time selecting a good way to use the free flights and eventually decided to head to London for the turn of the century.

December 29, 1999 - Wednesday - Departure and Lloyd's 34th birthday
December 30, 1999 - Thursday - arrived, bought all manner of passes, napped, went downtown in the evening, rained
December 31, 1999 - Friday - Big Ben, closed Harrods, Houses of Parliment, Covent Gardens, Hyde and Green Park, outside of Buckingham Palace, walked along Thames, 1st viewing of the Millenium Eye, Fireworks
January 1, 2000 - Saturday - outside of Tower of London, some more of the West End, trip down the Thames by boat
January 2, 2000 - Sunday - changing of the guard, Petticoat lane, Greenwich (Millenium Dome, Royal Observatory, Greenwich market, Cutty Sark & around the world sailboat, Greenwich Foot Tunnel), bus ride in the Isle of Dogs
January 3, 2000 - Monday - Victoria and Albert (great bed of ware), Natural History museum, Science museum
January 4, 2000 - Tuesday - London Transport museum, Theatre museum, Westminster Abbey
January 5, 2000 - Wednesday - Harrods, Tower of London, Tower bridge
January 6, 2000 - Thursday - St. Pauls Cathedral, tea, London museum, Barbacian center, British museum,
January 7, 2000 - Friday - Globe Theater, Rose Theater, original spot for the Globe, more shopping at Covent Gardens, Mama Mia!
January 8, 2000 - Saturday - Duke of Wellingtons house, Hayward art gallery, National Gallery, Les Mis
